Parents and Friends

The St Mary’s Parents & Friends Association is an integral part of the School life. The association exists to allow parents and other friends of the School to become involved closely with the School.

The P & F Association is not intended to be simply a fund raising organisation. The association funds are raised by means of a parent levy that is issued with the School’s term accounts.

The activities of the association include:
  • acting as a sounding board for the Principal for events and policies within the school
  • disposal of the association’s funds to the benefit of the School e.g. purchasing of equipment, funding projects
  • allowing discussion of topics of educational interest
  • responding to educational issues in the wider community and political context
  • organising working bees to maintain and improve the School environment

Meeting dates and times will be advertised in the School’s newsletter.  Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm and are held in the school library.

You are invited to become involved with the P & F. It provides valuable service to the school and is an excellent way for you to become a part of the St Mary’s community.

All parents of St Mary’s are members of this association and are welcome to attend any meeting.  Our Outside School Hours Service provides child care for primary-age children on most meeting nights to allow parents with no alternative child-care arrangements to attend the meetings.
